UPDATE (Dec. 13, 2016 4:45 p.m.): An officer with Bakersfield Police filed a search warrant for the residence on Collins Street to obtain DNA evidence to further investigate the case.

Bakersfield Police arrested Brian Gray, 43, of Bakersfield for assault with a deadly weapon after police found a shooting scene. 

Police responded to Collins Way near E. California and Washington St. after a man claimed he had been shot at following a family dispute.

Officers said they found evidence of a shooting at the scene.  A search warrant was obtained and the firearm believed to be used in this incident was located inside the residence. 

Officers arrested Gray for assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm and other related charges.
