A suspected gang member is behind bars.
Bakersfield Police officers said early Saturday morning they pulled over a vehicle for a traffic stop in the 900 block of Flower Street. During the stop officers identified the driver as 23-year-old Johnny Bernal-Flores.
Officers said Bernal-Flores is on parole for burglary and listed as criminal street gang member. During a search of the vehicle police found a Glock 9mm handgun with a high capacity magazine.
Bakersfield Police officers said they arrested Bernal-Flores for several weapons violations, gang participation and violating his parole.
