CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif. — On Thursday, California City Police Department arrested the truck driver involved in a fatal traffic accident from June.

According to officials, 64 year-old Manuel Valenzuela told investigators that on June 3, he was driving into California City on Neuralia Road when a motorcyclist, later identified as 47 year-old Kyra Adams, swerved and struck the front of his truck head-on. Adams died instantly, according to police.

Police traffic investigators later determined that Adams did hit the truck head-on but had broken down on the side of the road and Valenzuela failed to slow down before he rear-ended Adams.

Valenzuela was arrested at his California City home without incident and booked into Kern County Jail.
