BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department says two people who were shot in Southwest Bakersfield on Tuesday night have died.
BPD was called to the area of California Avenue near Easton Drive at around 11:30 Tuesday night.
BPD initially said the two victims suffered major injuries. The shooting has now turned into a double homicide.
The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified the victims as 45-year-old Tony Ray Charles, Jr., and 30-year-old Destiny Nicole Freeman.
No one else was injured in the shooting.
No arrests have been made.
