BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Police are asking for the community's help in identifying the driver and vehicle involved in a hit and run, resulting in serious injuries.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, on April 10, just before 4:30 p.m., a vehicle was involved in a collision with a bicyclist in the area of Baker Street and East California Ave.

Police say the driver of the vehicle fled the scene and the involved bicylist suffered serious injuries.

BPD describes the vehicle as a:

• 1967 El Camino, faded avocado green, lowered with multi-spoke wheels
