Bakersfield police have confirmed that one man died in a shooting early Sunday morning in east Bakersfield. 

BPD responded to Lake Street, near Tulare Street just after 12:30 a.m., where they found a 56-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. 

The man was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. 

Police have no suspect information at this time.
