BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield Police say they are searching for a woman after a man was stabbed in central Bakersfield Monday morning.

BPD say they were dispatched to the 300 block of H Street for reports of a stabbing. Police say they located a man with multiple stab wounds including to the neck. He was transported to the hospital with moderate injures.

Police say they do not know the motive behind the stabbing, but say a woman is believed to the suspect. She is described as short, medium build, with long dark hair. They believe she is between 20 to 40 years old.

H Street was closed for several hours in both directions while detectives investigated.
