The journey may have hit a bump in the road for Bakersfield's Dillon James, but his musical quest is far from over.
James finished in the Top 5 on this season of "American Idol" a spot no other Bakersfield native has ever reached.
While he didn't finish as the American Idol, there's still a chance for him to get in one more national television performance.

The show on Live will air on Thursday.
Fans can go to the Kelly and Ryan website and vote for any one of the Top 5 contestants who didn't win.
Voting closes at 6 this morning.
