The Popeyes on White Lane has been shut down because of multiple health code violations.
The facility was found to be operating with inadequate refrigeration and failed to follow basic food safety principles.
Health inspectors found 256 mixed pieces of raw chicken that were not stored at the required temperature. They also found 10 pounds of raw chicken bits stored in conditions that violated temperature requirements.
The walk-in was observed to be at 70 degrees Fahrenheit, making things inside of it, like ranch dressing sauces and other food items hazardous for consumption. Some food items inside the walk-in were found sitting on ice.
These foods are required to be kept at or below 41 degrees Fahrenheit, or, at or above 135 degrees Fahrenheit. Potentially dangerous foods were voluntarily condemned.
