Power restored to more than 7,000 Southern California Edison customers in Kern County following transformer upgrade

The company updated the power outage cause to a transformer upgrade and pole upgrades throughout the county.

UPDATE: According to SCE's outage map power has been restored to more than 8,400 of its customers. The company said that the power outage was caused by a transmission line issue. SCE said the outage started around 8:50 a.m. on Monday and power was restored by 10 a.m.

Southern California Edison has reported over 7,000 customers are without power throughout Kern County.

According to the company's outage map there are a total of 17 outages as of 8:45 a.m. Monday morning.

Edison said they have crews working to get power restored in impacted areas.
