Power outage in northeast Bakersfield affecting nearly 3,000 people

Nearly 3,000 people in northeast Bakersfield are affected by a power outage, according to Pacific Gas and Electric. 

The outage happened around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. PG&E is investigating the cause of the outage. 

By 7:15 p.m., less than 300 were still without power. 

Power is estimated to be fully restored at 8:45 p.m.

There was an outage Wednesday afternoon after a car hit a pole that affected 2,883 people. As of Wednesday evening, crews were still working on restoring power.
