Many groups join forces each year to help bring a little Thanksgiving feast to people who need a little help this time of year. Supervisor Leticia Perez and the Kern Probation Officers Association donated turkeys Monday to The Mission at Kern County.
For the last two years, officers have donated turkeys and money to the shelter to help those in need.
"You know what - it's huge. You know with COVID a lot of the drives that we typically rely on for turkeys are other things have not occurred. So we got a lot of food this was a very good infusion of turkeys in the last few days here as we go into the holiday," explained Carlos Baldovinos, executive director at The Mission at Kern County.
Since the start of the pandemic, The Mission says they're grateful for whatever amount of donated food they're able to get.
