Protestors gather in east Bakersfield for 3rd Annual March for Justice

Posted

More than 100 people took to the streets of east Bakersfield on Saturday, attempting to call attention to police brutality in Kern County.

Protestors blocked streets while chanting and carrying signs.

Demonstrators in the third annual Walk for Justice started on the sidewalk on Mt. Vernon Avenue, and then moved into the road, blocking traffic from accessing the on-ramp onto Highway 178.

People carried signs with pictures of their loved ones, who they say were victims of police brutality.

The protest remained peaceful; BPD and KCSO say that no arrests were made.
