In a WARN letter, Providence Medical Institute announced they were laying off 51 employees. The layoffs are expected to be permanent.

The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act requires businesses to provide notification of mass layoffs.

The layoffs are expected to take place by September 16th and affect not only Bakersfield, but locations in Los Angeles, Encino, Tarzana, Ventura, Santa Monica, and Orange.
