Nestlé Purina PetCare Company is recommending that you throw out their Muse wet cat food Natural Chicken Recipe in Gravy (3 oz) after customers recently observed rubber pieces in the product.
Purina describes the pieces as a potential choking hazard that are "translucent yellow with a blue backing." The company says that the national recall of the cat food is limited and has already made changes to prevent any future problems.
So far, there has not been any reports of injury or illnesses to cats who've consumed the product. Purina is recommending that you discard any of the affected product and they'll replace it.
You can identify the product by the UPC, production code and "Best By" date on the bottom of the can.
If you purchased a variety pack, only the Natural Chicken Recipe in Gravy cans are included in the recall. If you have any more questions or concerns about the nationwide recall you can call 1-800-982-3885, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
