The rain is back!
According to the National Weather Service, moderate to heavy rains were detected Monday afternoon on the west side of Bakersfield.

Lightning has been detected in the mountains north of Onyx and in the foothills east of Porterville where most of the rain is falling.
It has been almost two months since Bakersfield has seen any sort of precipitation.
