Recology project to provide additional revenue for Arvin and Lamont

Posted

Kern County District 4 Supervisor David Couch announced that the Kern County Board of Supervisors recently approved changes to the Conditional Use Permit to Recology's composting operation in Lamont that will create jobs, improve air quality, save Kern County taxpayers money and add revenues to the Arvin/Lamont Economic Opportunity Area he recently established.

This comes after the Board of Supervisors approved the proposed CUP changes with specific provisions designed to benefit the Arvin and Lamont area.

Community discussions took place with the Kern County Planning Department and the different community partners to include the Center for Race, Poverty and the Environment.
