Red Cross opens emergency shelter for residents affected by storms

The American Red Cross of Kern County has opened an emergency shelter for residents affected by flooding in the Lamont area.

The shelter is located at Arvin High School at 900 Varsity Road. It's open to anyone facing evacuation orders.

Volunteers will be on scene to provide lodging, water, meals, and health services.
