A special event is happening in southwest Bakersfield on Tuesday for those looking to honor loved ones they have lost during the holiday season.

Hoffman's Hospice is hosting their annual Light Up a Life ceremony tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m. at the Marketplace Shopping Center.

For the ceremony, local families can purchase special lights that will be put on the tree in honor of a lost loved one.

Lights are available for a $10 donation each. There are also special ornaments available for a donation of $100 or more. 

Lights and ornaments will be available for purchase up until the event starts.
