The Country music world is honoring and remembering the life of Fuzzy Owen.
Theresa Haggard, the widow of the late Merle Haggard, posted on Facebook Monday, announcing Fuzzy's death. One of the pioneer's of Bakersfield sound, Fuzzy served as Merle Haggard's road manager his entire career.
Merle Haggard's official Instagram page announced Fuzzy's passing.
"To all fans and friends: Today Merle's lifelong manager Charles Fuzzy Owen passed away. He managed Merle through his career. He also was the first one to record Merle. We will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. God bless you Fuzzy!"
Charles Fuzzy Owen was also credited with getting Merle Haggard a contract with Capitol Records.
Fuzzy Owen was 91.
