RIDGECREST, Calif. — Saturday marks one year since a 6.4 earthquake rocked the communities of Ridgecrest and Trona. Friday local Congressman Kevin McCarthy released a statement regarding the anniversary.

"As we approach the one-year anniversary of the Ridgecrest earthquake, I am proud of the way our community has come together to overcome this great challenge," said McCarthy in his statement.

"The overwhelming support we have received from Congress and the Trump Administration has been encouraging, including the allocation of $3 billion in funds to rebuild Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake to ensure the installation remains one of our country's most advanced."
