Kern County’s unemployment rate is at 10.6%, according to the July 2016 labor force and industry employment data sent out by the State of California’s Employment Development Department.

Currently, there are 402,600 people in the labor force and 42,500 individuals are unemployed.

California's unemployment rate is 6.3% as of April, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
