Report: How expensive is it to rent an apartment in Bakersfield?

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A new national rent report by Zumper said Bakersfield is one of the most expensive cities to rent.

According to the online apartment search platform, Bakersfield ranked as the 90th most expensive city to rent last month. Researchers said the average price of a one bedroom unit in the city dropped 3.9% to $730, while two bedroom units grew 1.1% to $910.

Zumper said its report covers 100 cities nationwide, with data aggregated from over one million active listings, and includes a National Rent Index for one and two bedroom units.
