Representative Kevin McCarthy targeted by net neutrality billboard

Posted
and last updated

United States Representative Kevin McCarthy is among a few lawmakers that have been recently targeted by a new wave of crowdfunded net neutrality billboards launched by the internet freedom activists group Fight for the Future by posted billboards.

The main focus of the billboards is to call out members of congress that have publicly supported the plan to gut net neutrality rules that prevent companies from charging extra fees, enagaging in discriminatory throttling, or outright blocking online content, apps, and services.

The billboards also encourage constituents to contact their elected officials.

The billboards appear just weeks before the FCC's final deadline for public input on their proposal to gut net neutrality.

There are six billboards in six states targeting different elected officials.

Clarksville, TN - Rep. Marsha Blackburn

Dalton, GA - Rep. Tom Graves

Bakersfield, CA - Rep. Kevin McCarthy

Janesville, WI - Rep. Paul Ryan

Rapid City, SD - Sen. John Thune

Jackson, MS - Sen. Roger Wicker
