UPDATE 10:00 a.m.: CHP said that while working to remove the car from the canal, crews were able to determine that no one was inside the car.
California Highway Patrol is on scene of car in a canal where at least one driver was injured Sunday in McFarland.
The car entered the canal in the area of Whisler and Driver roads shortly before 6:45 a.m.
Kern County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue is assisting with the effort to rescue to occupants and there is no word yet on the condition of the passenger.
