Rusty's Pizza Parlor on Ming Avenue has been closed due to receiving an unsatisfactory grade in a recent health inspection.

The restaurant scored a 68 percent on their June 30th inspection, with issues of food storage and cockroaches as reasons for the low score.

The Kern County Public Health Services Department website shows that the restaurant kept 'potentially hazardous food' (ready to eat foods) at 54 degrees when those types of foods need to be kept at below 41 degrees or about 135 degrees to stop bacterial growth.

The department also cited floor covers needing repair and cockroaches throughout the restaurant.

The restaurant will remain closed until they pass another inspection.
