The mayor of Ridgecrest announced she was cancer free at Wednesday night's City Council Meeting, according to The News Review. 

Breeden said earlier this year she had breast cancer, but spoke out about it at the council meeting this week.  

"I have had my last chemo, I have no cancer," announced Breeden. 

According to The News Review, she has since undergone a double-mastectomy surgery and is cancer free.

“You all helped make it happen. I thank the doctors, but I thank everyone for their prayers and their concerns.”
