Ridgecrest Police arrest Bakersfield resident for gun, drug possession

On November 22, 2017 Ridgecrest Police conducted a traffic stop in which they arrested 32-year-old Jose Leal near the 1300 block of W. Ridgecrest Boulevard. 

Leal is a convicted felon and after searching his vehicle police found a loaded firearm as well as what they suspected to be methamphetamine and marijuana in the vehicle. It was later determined that the firearm found in Leal's car was stolen. 

Leal was arrested on multiple charges including convicted felon in possession of a firearm, convicted felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance with intent for sales, and possession of a stolen firearm. 

Leal was booked into Central Receiving Facility-Bakersfield
