RIDGECREST, Calif. — Ridgecrest Police Department is warning residents about a telephone scam.

According to police, the scammer will ask you to provide the last 4 digits of your social security number over the phone or the police will come to your residence.

Officials are advising residents to not provide the callers with your personal information.
