One blood donation is equivalent to 470 ml of blood, or 0.0002 gallons, meaning it would take an estimated 8 visits to reach one gallon. Donors must wait at least 8 weeks between donations, according to the American Red Cross.
According to the American Red Cross, you must be 17-years-old in order to donate, or 16-years-old with the permission of a parent or guardian.
