Rite Aid offers free drive-thru COVID testing, registration required

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Thursday, Rite Aid announced 39 additional, no-charge COVID-19 drive-thru testing sites in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, including a new location opening at a Rite Aid store in Bakersfield on September 25 at 11200 Olive Drive.

Rite Aid operates 303 total testing sites across 15 states.

Each testing site will implement self-swab nasal tests overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists and will operate through the store's drive-through window. All adults 18 years of age or older, are eligible for testing and need to pre-register here. Patients can begin scheduling appointments online for the new locations today.

Rite Aid is also encouraging people to prepare early for flu season.

Seasonal flu shots are now available at all Rite Aid pharmacies in the Bakersfield area.
