Traffic on Kimberlina Avenue just outside of Shafter has been shut down following a crash involving a big rig.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a semi truck crashed into a pole about 7:45 Friday morning in the area of Kimberlina Road and Shafter Avenue.

The semi was blocking westbound lanes, leading to road closures in the area. 

Power was shut off to a handful of residents in the area. 

It's not known if anyone was injured in the crash.
