BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Rocket Shop Cafe on Union Avenue has been closed after an inspector observed "live, multi-generational cockroaches."

According to a Kern County Public Health Services inspection report dated December 13, an inspector observed cockroaches on the bar refrigerator. The report also notes that the operator of Rocket Shop Cafe failed to close the facility after a severe vermin infestation was noted.

Rocket Shop Cafe is located at 2000 S. Union Avenue in Southeast Bakersfield.
