A man was hospitalized early Sunday following a single-vehicle roll over crash on Highway 178 in the Canyon.
Around 4:45 a.m. California Highway Patrol officers responded to the accident near democrat landing.
According to officials, the driver was heading westbound toward Bakersfield when he lost control of his Honda Civic in a turn.
CHP said the car then started to roll across oncoming traffic and up the side of the hill before resting on the eastbound shoulder.
Officers said the driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
CHP said speed was a factor in the accident.
Officials said that this incident serves as a reminder to slow down and drive carefully through the Canyon.
