UPDATE (April 3, 9:54a): The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified the woman involved in a deadly crash on March 29th as Farideh Terae Mitchell, 25, of Las Vegas.

Mitchell was the driver of the vehicle that struck a guardrail. Mitchell was ejected from the vehicle and transported to a hospital with major injuries where she later died.

UPDATE (7:57): The CHP says one person suffered major injuries after a car crash on Highway 58 at Weedpatch Highway.

The CHP says the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle, hit a guardrail and went airborne. The driver was ejected and suffered major injuries.

A passenger suffered minor injuries. A 6-month-old was not hurt. The CHP says the baby was properly secured, which helped avoid a tragedy.

Eastbound traffic on Highway 58 and Weedpatch is backing up following a rollover Wednesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, at least one person was injured.

The CHP says all lanes of eastbound Highway 58 have been blocked and are being diverted to Weedpatch Highway.
