Hundreds of runner raced through the streets of Southwest Bakersfield for the 3rd annual Run to Remember.
Hoffmann Hospice hosted the Saturday morning run. The run was a fundraiser for the hospice home on Buena Vista Road. Hoffmann Hospice co-founder Beth Hoffmann said the money raised during the run go towards programs at the hospice home for patients and family members being cared for. And fundraisers like the run help them provide care for those with limited money.
Runner teamed up wearing matching shirts with those they were running for, while others had pictures of loved ones who passed after being cared for at Hoffmann Hospice.
One team ran for their friend Bianca Cabrera. Cabrera's friend and coworker, Nicole Sotelo, said Cabrera was diagnosed with breast cancer at 29-years-old and died at 30-years-old. Sotelo said Cabrera was a fun and energetic friend who she misses. And today's run was her way of honoring her.
