The Houchin Community Blood Bank and the Kern County Fair are partnering for a fifth annual Pint for a Pass Blood Drive.

Today is the last day to earn a free adult pass to the Kern County Fair by donating a pint of blood or other needed blood products.

The donor centers are located at 5901 Truxtun Avenue and 11515 Bolthouse Drive in Bakersfield.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

"We hope the Pint for a Pass Blood Drive will help us get the needed donors through the doors to volunteer the lifesaving products required by patients in need. We like to say It's Only Fair to Donate Blood during this drive", says Carola Enriquez, Director of Community Development.

Blood donors must be in good health, weigh 110 pounds, and be 18 years of age or older. 16 and 17 year olds can donate with parental consent. A photo ID with date of birth is all that is needed to start saving lives, at either Bakersfield donor center or any mobile drive in Kern County.

More information about blood donation is available at 661-323-4222 or www.hcbb.com.
