Scaled Composites announced that they rolled out the first flight of their most recent project, which was experimental aircraft Model 401. 

The company worked with others to construct two different aircrafts that showed advanced, and low-cost manufacturing techniques. They were both designed the same on the outside and as well as in performance. 

They are both capable of flying with a service ceiling of 30,000, have a wingspan of 38 feet and are 38 feet long. 

The first flight was part of the test phase for the first vehicle. The team plans on continue expansion of the first aircraft as they get closer to flying the second aircraft.
