The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community's help in locating a suspect that scammed a local Starbucks.

On August 27, 2017 around 8:30 p.m. an employee at the Starbucks at 1201 24th Street received a phone call from an unknown man who pretended to be an employee with the Starbucks corporate office.

The man then told the employee to prepare a new deposit and was told that a corporate employee would go to the business to collect the funds.

About an hour later a woman showed up to the Starbucks pretending to be a part of the Starbucks corporate office and collected $4,000.

It was later determined that this entire operation was a scam.

The woman who showed up to the Starbucks to collect the funds is described as a white female, 30-40 years old, brown shoulder length hair, wearing a black pantsuit and carrying a gray briefcase.

Anyone with information on this investigation is asked to call (661) 326-3921 or (661) 327-7111.
