School bus tours Kern County to highlight historical areas of African American significance

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A school bus is sharing history Saturday as part of black history month.

Today the Kid's Mystery Bus Tour will be making over ten stops around town.

Stops include the first black churches in the area along with other various other locations holding historic significance for the African American community.

Tickets are $10 each for the first 20 students, but children must be accompanied by someone 18 and over.

The passenger pick up area is located at the Holloway Gonzales Library on E Brundage Lane.

The bus departs at 9:30 a.m. and will return at 1:30 pm.
