BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — As the district comes to an end, various districts are conducting "replacement" ceremonies for their students.

COVID-19 impacted the school year by firstly closing school and then canceling events with large gatherings, graduation being one of them.

East high school conducted a drive-thru graduation, complete with a line of cars.

This event was also a chance for the Fruitvale School District to say goodbye to Dr. Mary Westendorf, she is retiring after 35 years.
