A Bakersfield High School student was arrested on Monday after officials found a firearm inside of a car driven by the student.
According to Lisa Krch, spokesperson for the Kern High School District, BHS officials were told a student had a gun in his or her car.
Although no threat was made to the school, the KHSD Police Department was made aware and approached the student, then escorted the student to the car where they found the firearm.
The student was taken into custody for possession of a firearm and officials seized the firearm.
