A nature photographer captured the moment of wildlife officials saving a stuck sea otter pup and mother in Morro Bay.

The photos were posted on the Office and Spill Prevention and Responses Facebook page Tuesday.

According to the post, the pup and it's mother were stuck in some rocks in Morro Bay.

Photographer Tim Scott documented the rescue led by CDFW sea otter biologist Mike Harris plus assistance from the Morro Bay Harbor Patrol.

Harris and the harbor patrol worked to extricate the female from the rocks, and reuniting her with her pup moments later.

Wildlife officials say the sea otters became stranded in the rocks after they fell asleep and not waking up after the tide went out.
