Search underway for possible drowning in Hart Park

(UPDATE: August 4, 2018 4:30 p.m.): KCSO Search and Rescue have confirmed the identity of the possible drowning.

Frank Davis of Bakersfield was swimming with friends and family shortly before 1 p.m. when he became distressed and submerged under the water. 

Sgt. Steve Williams of KCSO Search and Rescue Unit says that Davis was not wearing a personal flotation device. 

Alcohol and drugs are factors in the possible drowning. 

At this time, KCSO Search and Rescue have not yet found Davis.

A search is underway for a possible drowning at Hart Park.

Kern County Search and Rescue says that a white male adult was last seen in the water at Hart Park shortly before 1 p.m.

Witnesses saw the man in distress and then become submerged.
