Second California condor shooting under investigation in Porterville, $15,000 reward being offered

PORTERVILLE, Calif. - A $15,000 reward is being offered leading to the arrest and conviction in the May 2018 shooting and subsequent death of a California Condor in Tulare County.

The condor was found dead on a property south of Hot Springs Rd. and east of Old Stage Coach Rd in Porterville. According to the Service’s Wildlife Forensics Laboratory, the cause of death was trauma from a gunshot wound.

In July 2018, another condor was found dead on a remote private property in Kern County.
