Second overnight shooting leaves one man in critical condition in South Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Saturday, April 11, 2020, at about 1:26 AM, officers from the Bakersfield Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 800 block of Planz Road. According to BPD this is one of two shootings that took place in Bakersfield overnight, but it is unclear if officials believe they are connected.

When officers arrived on scene they located an adult male inside of a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he is currently in critical, but stable condition. Homicide detectives responded and assumed the investigation.
