BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - SEIU 521 members are coming together to rally in support of Kern Regional Center after they say they could be closing their facility.
Service Employees International Union released a press release today saying KRC manager said they would be taking "drastic measures, including closing the facility for the developmentally disabled."
The group said, "management's decision will put vulnerable members of our community at risk and is an attack on workers livelihoods."
Today at 5:30 p.m. members of SEIU 521 are planning to rally to save Kern Regional Center.
23ABC asked Kern Regional about the rally or possibly closing the facility and they said they had "no idea" about the rally or a possible closure.
