BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — UPDATE: CHP says all lanes to Stockdale & Nord are now open following a traffic collision involving a big rig.
Stockdale Highway in west Bakersfield is closed in both directions while PG&E crews repair power lines knocked down by a semi truck, CHP officials said.
According to officers, around 2:58 a.m., the driver of the semi, Dhanakrit Mann, 25, made an unsafe turning movement and drove off the road. He crashed into a power pole on Stockdale Highway west of Nord Avenue, and the pole blocked lanes in the area.
Mann received minor injuries.
A van drove through power lines and was damaged, but no one in that vehicle was injured, officials said.
According to Pacific Gas & Electric, 152 customers were without power in the area.
