CHP reporting major injuries after semi-truck collided with sedan southeast of Bakersfield

Multiple people were extricated from a vehicle that collided with a semi-truck southeast of Bakersfield shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday, according to the CHP traffic incident website.

The collision occurred near Herring and South Edison Roads, backing up traffic in both directions.

Multiple law enforcement and medical units are still on scene and traffic restrictions are enforced in the area.
