Initial reports from California Highway Patrol say a semi truck was traveling south bound on the I-5 near Old River Road when it crossed several lanes into oncoming traffic and crashed.
Around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday the truck blocked the #1 and #2 lanes on the freeway northbound and there was debris spread across southbound lanes.
23ABC's crew on scene said the semi truck had damage on the front of the truck.
This caused back up about a half mile long on both sides of the freeway. CHP said traffic was impacted for 45 minutes.
The lanes were cleared around 3:30 p.m. One person was moderately injured and taken to Kern Medical Center.
